Notice board
What the business is telling its staff this month.
Heat policy starts 1 October
From 1 October the summer heat arrangements apply on every site. Supervisors must check the forecast at prestart, plan heavy work for the morning, rotate crews and make sure water and shade are available. Work stops on scaffold and roofs when the site temperature reaches 38 degrees. Read the Fitness for Work policy for the rest requirements before callouts.

Backflow accreditation and forklift licence renewals due
Two credentials on the training matrix expire this month and one has already lapsed. Business Support has booked renewal courses for the backflow accreditation and the forklift licence. Anyone whose licence, ticket or first aid certificate is within 90 days of expiry must check the matrix and tell Grace before 19 September. Nobody is permitted to perform licensed work on an expired credential.

Quarterly internal audit, Kellerman Street and Geelong depot
The WHS and quality internal audit for the quarter will be held at Kellerman Street on 24 September and the Geelong depot on 25 September. Supervisors must have the site diary, SWMS, inductions, prestart records, chemical register extract and inspection records ready. Findings will be reviewed at the October WHS committee and corrective actions assigned in the register.

Apprentice of the quarter and new starters
Congratulations to Tom Buckley, named apprentice of the quarter for his hazard reporting and support of placement students on the framing crew. Keystone welcomes two new first year plumbing apprentices at the Geelong depot and a contracts administrator in the Dandenong South office. Please make them welcome and make sure they are inducted before their first site visit.

School zone delivery times at Kellerman Street
A reminder that no deliveries or truck movements are permitted at Kellerman Street between 8:15 am and 9:15 am or 3:00 pm and 3:45 pm on school days. The school crossing supervisor has reported two trucks arriving in the morning window last week. Book all deliveries through the site supervisor and tell your suppliers the windows. Breaches put our permit at risk.
